内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of habitual exercise on muscle thickness of ankle plantar flexors and ankle dorsiflexors. One hundred and two females participated in this study. Seventy-three females (60-79 years old) were trained and twenty-nine females (60-79 years old) were not trained. The muscle thickness of ankle plantar flexors and ankle dorsiflexors were measured using a B-mode ultrasonic apparatus. 1) In 60s muscle thickness of ankle plantar flexors in exercise-group was greater than that of untrained group (p<0.05). In 70s there was no difference in muscle thickness of ankle plantar flexors between exercise group and untrained group, 2) muscle thickness of ankle dorsiflexors in exercisegroup was greater than that of untrained group in 60s (p<0.01). Difference in muscle thickness of ankle dorsiflexors between exercise group and untrained group was no significance in 70s. These findings suggested that the effect of habitual exercise on muscle thickness of lower limbs was more effective in early elderly age. In addition, there may be slight difference in relative load between 60s and 70s. | |||||||||
