| 内容記述 | This paper aims at providing a clearer understanding of the notion of the functional units of conversation, which construct a basis for sociopragmatic analysis of interactional discourse strategies in social interaction. Based on the assumption that social interaction is a goal-oriented behavior by the speaker(s), it discusses a sociopragmatic notion of the units in speech act sequence, each of which has a sociopragmatic coherence. After examining, different views regarding units of conversation from both structural and functional perspectives, the paper confirms the distinction between the turn units and more functional/sociopragmatic units in speech act sequence, demonstrating the hierarchical relationship among speech acts in the latter. | |||||||
