| 内容記述 | 子どもが理解不能であるというイメージと，犯罪少年に対してより厳しい罰を与えることを支持する態度に正の関連がある。思春期の子どもが可塑性を持つというイメージと，犯罪少年に対して社会復帰のために治療することを支持する態度との関連，およびより厳しい罰を与えることを支持する態度との関連を検討した研究は見られない。また，思春期の子どもが理解不能であるというイメージと社会復帰のために治療することを支持する態度との関連を検討した研究も見られない。そこで，思春期の子どもが可塑性を持つというイメージ，および理解不能であるというイメージが，犯罪少年に対して社会復帰のために治療することを支持する態度と関連しているかどうか，およびより厳しい罰を与えることを支持する態度と関連しているかどうかの検討を本研究の目的とした。以上のイメージと態度を測定するウェブ調査に，269 名の大学生，大学院生が参加した。相関分析と重回帰分析が行われた。その結果，思春期の子どもが可塑性を持つというイメージと犯罪少年に対して社会復帰のために治療することを支持する態度との間に正の関連があること，および理解不能であるというイメージとより厳しい罰を与えることを支持する態度の間に正の関連があることが示された。これらの結果から，思春期の子どもが可塑性を持つというイメージが強まると，犯罪少年に対して社会復帰のための治療をすることを支持する態度が強まる可能性が示唆された。 The image of children as incomprehensible is positively related to attitudes supporting harsher punishment toward juvenile offenders. There has been no research investigating the relationship between the image of adolescents as having plasticity and attitudes supporting rehabilitation of juvenile offenders and support for harsher punishment toward them. There is also a dearth of research on the relationship between the image of adolescents as incomprehensible and attitudes supporting their rehabilitation. The aim of this study was to examine whether the image of adolescents as having plasticity and as incomprehensible are related to attitudes supporting rehabilitation and harsher punishment toward juvenile offenders. A total of 269 university students and graduate students completed a web-based survey to assess the image and the attitude. Correlational analysis and multiple regression analysis were used. The results indicated that the image of adolescents as having plasticity is positively related to attitudes supporting rehabilitation of juvenile offenders, and their image as incomprehensible is positively related to attitudes supporting harsher punishment toward them. These results suggested that attitudes supporting rehabilitation of juvenile offenders might be encouraged by increasing the image of adolescents as having plasticity. |
